Walking bug

We just went in to check on Lylah.  She was sleeping like an angel that you might put on the top of your Christmas tree!  She was rolled onto her side with her back slightly arched and her hands together.  It was interesting.

Today when I picked her up, she was happy to see me!  When I entered the room she was in, the other kids were sitting around and there's Lylah, just standing up clapping.  So it's very odd sometimes.  She's often now standing there when I go to get her.  And no other kids are ever standing without help!  It's like she's a genius.

Then she tried to walk toward me.  She took about 7 steps and fell, but crawled very quickly into my arms.  I picked her up, but she was in a strange mood after that.  She wouldn't look at me any more until after we got home!?!? It was strange.

So it's about 8:30 pm and I will soon be talking with a friend about AMWAY a little bit more.  We are running into an issue because Shannon wants to start Advocare.  Each program starts about the same amount of money to start.

The nice thing about Amway is that people can just buy products online.  When products are bought, I earn a commission and that money comes into our family.  It seems like it will work well, but I will have to sell items pretty frequently for it to even make an impact.  I will build my own website and people can shop on there for various items that they might need.  The problem, as Shannon and I were  discussing, is that Amway sells a variety of things that most people already buy from the store.  Soaps, shampoos, paper towels, make-up, energy drinks.  So, demand doesn't seem like it will be super high.  But I am continuing to listen and push forward because the people selling Amway seem to really like doing it and promise me that they make pretty good money from the program.

Shannon likes Advocare because her friends have seen dramatic results.

So, again, we are considering both - but I am going to talk with my friend tonight about ideas for how we can possibly do both under our current budget.  We certainly ain't poor, but we certainly ain't rich. So, we are just trying to make smart decisions for our family.  I talk about money a lot for a couple of reasons.  1. I like tracking our family money and I really take a little bit of pride in knowing that Shannon and I tend to spend money pretty wisely.  And 2. I think talking about money openly is healthy personally and for relationships.  Shannon and I have our own bank accounts, but rely on each other.  I pay the mortgage and my student loans.  Shannon pays all of the bills and daycare.  So in the end, we really come out about even. :-)
