Lylah dancing away

So last night, Lylah really enjoyed hearing Queen's "Somebody to Love" playing on a movie on TV.  She enjoyed it so much, in fact, that she started dancing to it.  I have seen most of the other dance moves.  The butt slap, however, is a new one (perhaps Queen inspired the move?).  Please enjoy this performance...

Lylah update and summer

You may have noticed that Lylahsdaddy.com has gone down.  This is because about 4 months ago, google stopped hosting custom websites to purchase.  I had originally purchased lylahsdaddy.com through google, but now can no longer post to that custom website due to this problem.  Apparently, there is a licensing waiting period before I can purchase the domain again, and that period will end sometime in the next few days.  I plan to then purchase the domain name again and get the blog up and running.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone know that Lylah is doing really great!  She is putting together sentences and running around everywhere!  We really like her new daycare.

I have inserted a video of Lylah saying some of her words!

And here are some updated pictures:

Easter 2013

Today, Lylah celebrated her 2nd Easter Day!  Last year at this time, she was just over a month old!  We got a picture with the Easter bunny last year when she was very small!  We decided this year to only celebrate Easter at our home!

Nana and Papa sent Lylah a fuzzy bunny basket with bubbles to blow inside!  Grandma and Grandpa sent a basket with eggs and baby clothes inside!  Lylah put on a very pretty dress today (although a little long) and went outside egg hunting.  The Easter bunny also set eggs inside to lead her to her baskets! Lylah's Playroom

We are in the process of building up Lylah's playroom!  We bought our house with one and a half floors.  That means that the entire downstairs is our home, and there is an upstairs bonus room.  It's a large room!  We used to use it as our living room, because I had surround sound built in when we built the house!  But it was a real hassle going up and down stairs just to be in our living room.

So for a while, this room was just for storage.  We would just store junk up here!  Now that Lylah is running around, though, we knew it would be the perfect play room!  We brought a bunch of toys up here.  The room is still filled with various items, but we are going to take the next couple of weeks to spruce it up, and make it a fun, safe play room for her.

I installed a gate by the stairs, so we can sit comfortably up here and watch her.  I also brought a small TV up here so that we can watch her favorite shows while she plays!  It's shaping up to be the perfect set-up!

It was hard watching her on the bottom floor of our house because she would wonder down the halls out of sight.

Right now we are hanging out upstairs.  I just had to get up because Lylah was trying to eat a coloring book.  She likes to put paper in her mouth.

She's developing her language quite well.  She says "This," and "That."  She says doggie, duck, mama, dada,  can sign if she wants more food.  She has a few more words, but I can't remember them all right now!

Lylah's Second 1st Birthday

So we all went up to Fort Worth this weekend to meet my parents and sisters.  My mom, like a crazy woman, had her gallbladder taken out 5 days before she flew to Fort Worth to see everyone!  She said she felt fine, and she looked well.  But I still think it was a little crazy (mom!).

Anyway, Lylah had a blast hanging out with her 3 year old cousins.  I think they really liked hanging out with her too!

On Saturday night, we all went out to dinner at Papadeaux seafood restaurant to celebrate Lylah's 1st birthday again!  It was really awesome!  The rumor going around was that Sandra Bullock was eating there.  We think it was true because there was a pretty big crowd in a private room, and a giant limo outside!

My mom wanted to send Sandra Bullock a piece of Lylah's cake to see if she might come over and take a picture with Lylah.  It never happened.

Below are some great pictures of Lylah digging into her smash cake!

No more cake...sad...
