It's time to update everyone on our little Lylah bug! She has made some real progress since I last updated the page. She is now able to balance on her own for 30-60 seconds and it's very cool! She just stands there on her own two feet. Sometimes she rocks back and forth a bit, but I can tell she is pretty proud of herself.
When she is not standing, she is generally crawling very quickly. We have to really watch her now because she crawls so fast! When you put her on the ground it's immediate acceleration! She likes to laugh at the dogs pretty often, and Shannon and I are still in love with her smile!
On another positive note, her spitting up has gotten a little bit better lately. It still seems to be pretty bad at daycare, but generally is good for us when she is home! Also at daycare, she generally only takes one nap per day, so by the end of the afternoon, she is pretty tired.
We take her on a walk daily! Here is a great picture of her and Shannon just before our walk today!

Lylah's getting bigger!
Today, Lylah skyped with Nana! She had a lot of fun and talked a little bit! Nana noticed her bottom teeth coming in. Notice the position lylah is at. She is standing up and holding on to the coffee table. She was able to stand for about 10 minutes and hang with Nana before she got distracted! Then, she crawled around a little bit, but ended up back at the table standing again!
This weekend, Shannon and I were busy with choir activities. We had Julie Kelsey come and babysit for us! It was great seeing Julie and she did a great job! And we were very glad to have her here to help us!
Lylah is eating solid foods 2 times per day now! And she will probably start eating solid foods 3 times a day soon! Next week, the Elko's will help take care of Lylah because Shannon and I will be celebrating her birthday! We will be going to a concert of one of Shannon's favorite singers! This will be her first "real concert." I mean, we have been to classical music concerts, but we have never been to any pop music artists. We are pretty excited!
Lylah is close to walking. She is able to balance herself while standing for about 5 minutes! We think that she will be walking by Christmas time.

Pretty much on auto pilot
So, now Lylah is really cruising along and developing very well! Her curiosity is higher than ever and she has crawling down to an art. Every day she gets prettier, and more exciting. If you are lucky, you get a big smile from her and maybe even a big (but slobbery) kiss! At daycare, she apparently loves playing with friends, reading time, and music.
By the time Christmas rolls around this year, she will be 10 months old! When they say hat time flies, they really mean it! I know that Ly will be learning to drive in the blink of an eye; however, she will be learning to drive in modest clothing and not stockholder around boys, obviously. But, we will cross that bridge when we get to it. :)
